The Force Powers Empty
PostSubject: The Force Powers   The Force Powers EmptySun Dec 05, 2010 10:43 pm

"Remember: abilities are not inherently good or evil, it's how you use them."

- Kyle Katarn

According to the theory that the Force is one, the light and dark sides do not actually describe the Force, but rather define how an individual uses it: to directly harm his enemies or to help himself overcome situations. Thus the aggressive or vengeful abilities inherently belong to the dark side, while those which are healing, defensive, self-empowering, or diversionary belong to the light side.

Core

The Core powers are the first powers a Jedi learns, and directly affects his own body or objects without actually harming or benefiting anything (except for Push, which can be used against enemies).

Control

The most basic Force techniques, requiring mastery over self. Control consists of the first basic abilities to be learned by a Jedi.

Force Speed: Force speed, also known as burst of speed or Force sprint, is a core Force power that allows the user to maintain sprinting speeds for a brief time. Greater aptitude granted greater boosts to speed and/or greater duration. The increased speed of the Force-user enables them to see the world and the entities around them in slow motion, allowing them to dodge attacks easily and attack quicker with greater accuracy. The power also apparently enables the user to run for extended distances with no visible signs of fatigue.

Force Cloak: Some Force users with this rare ability can use the Force to photo-kinetically bend light and sound waves around themselves, rendering them invisible to others, both visually and through Force. Since it physically bends light like a cloaking device, this power can be used to hide from beings such as droids and the Yuuzhan Vong, beings normally immune to Force-based illusions. It demands a great deal of concentration in order to maintain and consumes much more energy than other Force techniques.

Force Sense

The Force techniques of Force Sense include all abilities enhancing perception of the world around a being.

Force Seeing: Force sight, or Force seeing, is a basic Force ability, perhaps related to Force sense. It enhances the bearer's visual and spatial perception even in the dark or behind walls. 'Seeing' with the Force was a useful skill for as Obi-Wan Kenobi said, "Your eyes can deceive you. Don't trust them". Trained users can have their sight amplified and are able to counter Force persuasion and Force blinding powers.

Farseeing: Farsight or far sight is the ability to gain vague impressions of events happening in other places or times using the Force. These visions focus on strong imagery and emotions. The future is always in motion, however, and is thus subject to change. Jedi and Sith skilled in this technique are capable of detecting when friends and apprentices are in danger, examining details of past events, and predicting the probable outcome of a stated course of action. Farsight can also be applied to combat, allowing the practitioner to glimpse moves his opponent may make, as well as outside forces that might affect the battle. Sometimes, if the Jedi is in meditation for long enough, in farsight their spirit can leave their body for a limited amount of time, making their spirit able to go wherever it pleases. This is used for reconnaissance in a hostile place.

Force Empathy: Force Empathy is a Force power related to Force Sense, but involves picking up impressions of an individual's emotional state.

Telepathy: Telepathy is the very basic ability to mentally communicate over small or vast distances with other individuals. Every Force user, Jedi or Sith, are able to use it. The range of telepathy itself is theoretically infinite, but the telepath must be able to sense the presences of those they wish to contact. Thus, communicating with non-Force-sensitives becomes nearly impossible over distances greater than a handful of kilometers, and the typical upper limit for Force-sensitives is approximately 1,000 kilometers. However, individuals who are siblings, related, lovers, or lifelong friends, or who were once master and apprentice, are known to communicate across ranges far longer than that, and, in extreme cases (such as the twin bond between Jacen and Jaina Solo), the link apparently has no limit.

Alter

The most perceptive to the dark side, alter is the last technique taught to younglings. It includes powers to create external phenomenon.

Force Jump/Leap: Force Jump, also known as Force Leap, uses the Force to augment the user's natural leaping ability. Force-users adept in this technique can perform awe-inspiring vertical/horizontal leaps with impunity.

Force Pull/Push: A telekinetic ability using the Force that could cause a material body to draw close to the caster. The greater the user's aptitude with this, the heavier the object that could be pulled or the more wide arc or radius of the Force "wave". It could be used to pull weapons from enemies, or, at higher levels of skill, the enemies themselves to be brought closer to the Jedi's lightsaber range. This power was also very useful when a chasm or hole lay between the caster and the enemies. It could also be used to pull foes to the ground.

Force Push is the ability to create a telekinetic impulse via the Force, launching a concussive burst of pressurized air-not unlike the blast of an archaic 'pipe bomb'-that would impact a target with enough force to knock it over, launch it into the air, or even (particularly in the case of fragile materials such as ceramics) shatter it into pieces. The greater the user's telekinetic aptitude, the larger the pressure differential, and thus the stronger the effect and the heavier the target. With practice, a skilled Force user could increase the range and arc of the blast without lowering the average kinetic energy, creating a blanketed wave instead of a focused impulse. Truly gifted practitioners could generate a concussive blast that would radiate from them for dozens of meters in all directions, detonating with the force of a conventional explosive.

Universal

Universal powers are generic Force techniques which are associated with neither side of the Force. Almost all Core powers also qualify as Universal powers, but many of them were uncommon and not an integral part of basic Jedi training.

Art of the Small: Art of the Small is a radical Force technique. By narrowing their focus, a Force user can essentially shrink their presence in the Force to a microscopic size. While in this state, the user can operate molecules in any way they want, turning them into something completely different.

Battle Meditation: Battle meditation is a Force ability which considerably boosted the morale, stamina, and overall battle prowess of an individual's allies while simultaneously reducing the opposition's combat-effectiveness by eroding their will to fight. With the Force, one could coordinate entire fleets of ships, allowing them to perform at maximum efficiency, acting as a single entity with the ability to counter every enemy move quickly and effectively. Though ideal for meditating large-scale conflicts, battle meditation was equally effective when employed for the benefit of one's comrades in small skirmishes, attacks, and duels.

Breath Control: Using the Force power, breath control, a Jedi can literally numb the body's instinct to shut itself down after long periods without oxygen, allowing the user to be able to go without breathing for longer periods than he or she ordinarily could by using the Force to reserve the amounts of air in the lungs.

Comprehend Speech: Comprehend Speech is a Force ability that enables a Jedi to understand the spoken language of any sentient he/she is interacting with, though it does not necessarily allow him/her to speak it, merely understand the general meaning.

Dopplegänger: Dopplegänger is a Force power that allows a user to create a perfect illusion of his or herself through the Force. The force user could perceive all of the dopplegänger's senses, and to those interacting with it, the dopplegänger seemed real. The user could even interact with the world using telekinesis to move objects, furthering the believability of the illusion. The doppleganger could also be detected by all droid audio and video sensors. The doppleganger would fade away if the force-user was injured and ceased using the power.

Force Bellow: Force bellow is a power in which the user can amplify their voice using the Force.

Force Concealment: Force stealth also referred to as Force Concealment or Buried Presence is a power that is used by highly skilled Force-sensitives to mask their Force alignment (Light or Dark), their ability to use the Force, or even their entire presence from other Force sensitives.

Force Body: Force Body is a type of Force technique which allows any Force-sensitive to push their body's endurance past a safe limit, ignoring and possibly sacrificing their health and well-being, in order to sustain their connection to the Force.

Force Comprehension: Force Comprehension is the ability to absorb and interpret great quantities of information rapidly by speeding up the user's neural processes. Force Comprehension requires that the user possess at least a basic knowledge of the topic he is comprehending. Without this knowledge the user will simply speed up his neural processes and exhaust himself.

Force Confusion: Force Confusion allows a Jedi to influence the thoughts of sentient creatures, most commonly used to coerce into agreement by suggestion through voice manipulation, or to cause one to reveal information.

Force Deflection: Force Deflection is a Force power used by Jedi and Sith who are without a lightsaber, or choose not to carry one. It is unknown exactly if the Jedi and Sith merely create a wall using the Force to deflect blaster bolts, and Energy, or if they actually deflected them back with their hand. It takes much skill in the Force to use this, however, and most Jedi used their lightsabers instead to deflect incoming attacks.

Theran Force-listening: Theran Force-listening was a Force technique used by the Theran Listeners to hear through the Force. With it, Force-sensitives can understand words in another language or listen to beings talking from a distance.

Force Flash: The Force-flash is a Force power employed when the person using it did not want to be seen. Related to Droid Disable, the user can temporarily disable a security holocam, causing a brief period of static, allowing the user to pass while only alerting security to a minor holocam malfunction. Another usage of the Force under the same name allows the Force-user to produce an unnatural flash of bright light, temporary blinding his opponents.

Force Illusion: Force illusion is a very powerful Force ability, a subset of the various mind trick powers. The user projects an image into the minds of beings within range, of anything from a pillar of fire to a horde of snarling monsters to a fleet of warships, depending on the range. The user could "see" the illusion as well, though it would be only partially there, semi-transparent like a hologram. A Force illusion did not merely affect the sight of a creature. Since it was projected directly into the brain of the creature, it appeared on all of the creature's senses, from hearing to smell to senses such as echolocation. Illusions do not have a physical substance though one can "feel" them.

Force Meld: Force Meld, otherwise known as Jedi meld or Battle meld, is a technique where a number of Force users join their minds together through the Force, drawing strength from each other.

Force Suppression: Force suppression is a Force technique used to attack the will of the target, canceling all first and second tier Force powers. This will individually affect each active Force power. This technique takes a great deal of focus to accomplish.

Force Breach: Force Breach is an advanced variant of Force Suppression that interrupts all powers in use by the target at the time. It is a technique employed when a foe is preparing for a Force-based attack by disrupting their concentration and scrambling their focus. Force Breach is not a widely known Force power; it was most often used by some of the more powerful Jedi and Sith in ancient times.

Force Throw: A telekinetic ability of the Force, perhaps relating to Force Push. It causes objects, and even people, to be hurled toward a target at an astounding velocity. A skilled Force user can throw multiple, large objects simultaneously at great speeds.

Force Barrier: Force barrier or Force (war) shield is both an offensive and defensive Force power, aligned neither with the light or dark sides of the Force, that creates a barrier or wall of Force energy around the intended target, be it self, friend, or foe.

Force Whirlwind: A more advanced form of Force Push, and a feeble version of Force Wave. The Jedi will alter the air currents around an opponent, turning it into a maelstrom. This swirling force will lift an opponent into the air, spin them around, and completely immobilize them. This allowed the Jedi to attack without resistance.

Force Wave: One of the most powerful forms of Force Push. It is essentially a wave of pure Force-energy that pulses out from the Force user that utilizes it, which knocks back anything within the power's blast radius. The strength of Force Wave is extremely potent, and its raw power was on more than one occasion described as a telekinetic explosion. It is more widespread, like a wave, hence the name, and can push multiple opponents at once.

Force Repulse: An extremely powerful telekinetic Force power, similar in function to Force Push, and perhaps even more Force Blow, but on a far larger scale, akin to that of Force Wave, Force Repulse is known to gather loose objects, even Humans, and let out a powerful blow. The user will concentrate in the Force and violently push it outwards, creating rapidly-expanding kinetic ripples in space, flinging nearby objects away at high velocity. The power only affects objects a certain distance away from the user.

Force Weapon: Force Weapon is a Force ability that allows the user to imbue an un-powered weapon with the Force for a period of time. By channeling energy into the weapon, it allows the wielder to strike and do more damage than the weapon's simple appearance would suggest. As a useful side effect, a Force-imbued weapon can be used to block lightsabers without damaging the weapon.

Phase: Phase is a Force power that enables the user to pass through matter, such as walls and doors.

Precognition: The ability of foresight is perhaps universal to the Jedi or Force-sensitives and is manifested in the form of Force Visions of future events, or helping the Jedi predict his opponent's movements.

Psychometry: Psychometry or telemetry is a Force power that is a mental technique of picking up impressions and traces of information about the object touched and the events that have surrounded it. This power allows the user to view events as if they were there, including the sights, sounds, and feelings, both emotional and physical, that the wielder of the object experienced.

Sever Force: Sever Force is a non-lethal Force power by which a being's connection to the Force is interrupted, or blocked from them with a wall of light-side energy. According to the ancient Jedi scholar Odan-Urr, severing an individual's Force connection is the most powerful attack a Jedi can perform.

Shattepoint: Shatterpoints are a complex Force phenomenon, perceivable only by an unknown innate talent or immense focus and concentration on the part of the Force-user. Shatterpoints are akin to fault lines, and adept Force-users were able to perceive these faults through the Force, and influence them.

Tapas: Tapas is a Force technique that allows its user to draw on the power of the Force to remain warm in a cold environment.

Projected fighting: An application of telekinesis which can be used to harm an opponent without physical contact. The damage inflicted using projected fighting is dependent upon the attacker's physical strength—the power effectively acted to extend their physical body in hand-to-hand combat. The user can also choose to attack with less than full strength, in order to stun rather than injure. A target can defend against projected fighting as though it were a standard hand-to-hand attack, or if Force-sensitive, by using the Force. Knowledge of unarmed hand-to-hand combat techniques and pure physical strength will also make projected fighting techniques more effective. The power can be used against any opponent within the attacker's line of sight, and is easier to use against nearer opponents. The use of projected fighting is dangerous not only for the intended target, but for the attacker. As it uses the Force to deliberately assault another, it brings the user closer to the dark side.

Light

"A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack."

- Yoda

Light side powers are the Force powers that the user accesses through the Force's light side. The Jedi use them for protection, increasing physical and mental capacities, and for defense. They can also inspire and increase the resolve of allies. Certain light side powers can also be used offensively, but did not directly cause physical harm.

Alter Environment: Alter Environment is a Force power that involves various techniques that allows the user to manipulate nature, enabling the creation of phenomena such as Force whirlwinds or fog that can be used to attack or to shield the user from opponents. Alter Environment can be used to manipulate temperatures, creating freezing sub-zero temperatures in seconds, or blistering heat that can burn. With this ability, a user can generate electrical discharges over broad expanses of ground, vacate areas of air, or increase the pressure of the air to burst eardrums. The power allows a Force-adept to form small earthquakes and fissures or gather the moisture in the air to bring about flash floods. Moreover, Alter Environment can influence already existing natural occurrences.

Animal Friendship: Animal Friendship, also referred to as Beast Control or Beast Trick, is the Force ability to control an animal. Once calmed, the animal can be used by the Force user in various ways, including as a mount or guard beast.

Battlemind: Battlemind is a Force power wherein one's morale and fighting spirit is augmented through sheer focus.

Battle Precognition: Battle Precognition is a variant of precognition that allows one to sense the flows of the Force.

Combustion: Combustion is the Force ability that allows users to cause an object to explode by sheer force of will. It is rarely used on a person, and the effects on inanimate objects and persons was devastating. Depending on the size, density and vulnerability of the object in question, combustion would become harder or easier to use successfully. Combustion can be prevented and stopped if another Force user concentrates on an object to prevent it from exploding.

Cruticorn: Crucitorn is a Jedi technique for transcending physical pain beyond normal thresholds. The Jedi use it to reduce the pain a target feels from a wound they've inflicted on them.

Dark Transfer: Dark Transfer is an extremely rare Force power that allows the user to bring others back to life from the brink of death. It can be accessed through both the dark side and light side of the Force. The most well-known user of this force power, and perhaps the only one [thus far], Cade Skywalker also learned to use this Force power to kill or bring the target down to the brink of death.

Stun Droid: Stun droid causes only minimum damage to a droid's circuits and is focused more on stunning the machine for a short period of time, often no more than 6 seconds. It is somewhat easy to resist and is usually only affective against non-combat models, but nearly always causes small devices such as mines to explode.

Disable Droid: Disable droid is much more effective in deactivating a droid or other machinery than Stun Droid and is capable of causing some amounts of damage to the wiring and circuitry of the machine. Moreover, the energy released from this power is also capable of "hopping" from one droid to another within a certain area of the originally targeted droid.

Destroy Droid: Destroy droid is the most effective of all three levels and is aimed at the total destruction of the droid or device more than simply disabling it. The energy emitted from the user can effectively destroy many droids at once, especially if they are standing within a close proximity to the single droid target. While this power doesn't always ensure that a target will be immediately destroyed, resistance often still causes major disruptions to the inner circuitry of the machine.

Electric Judgment: Electric Judgment shows up as yellow or green electrical energy instead of blue or white, but otherwise it is very similar in both appearance and usage to the Force power known as Force lightning. This power is uncommon and controversial among the Jedi because of its intrinsic association with anger and aggression.

Force Blinding: Force blinding is a telekinetic light side Force power. Upon use of this technique, a blinding flash of energy emanates from a user's hand, manifesting as a flash of light that overloads a target's vision, causing temporary blindness.

Force Enlightenment: When activated, this power takes the defensive Force powers a Jedi is most skilled in, pushing them to the highest degree that the Jedi had previously mastered during his or her routine training.

Force Healing: Force healing, Force heal, or Cure is a power that uses the Force to accelerate the natural healing process rapidly. Initial levels require meditation, but greater aptitude usually grants faster regeneration, without need of meditation. Greater levels of attainment are also able to mend far more severe injuries, even complete damage to flesh and bone, even going as far as to mend internal damage, such as damage to the heart, lungs and so forth. Force Healing can not [however] regenerate lost matter.

Force Light: Force light is an immense light-side Force power used by Jedi. When used against a darksider, Force light will weaken the darksider's connection to the Force. With the light of the Force, a Jedi can either purge or contain dark side manifestations or nexus points, whether in places, spirits, or even living persons, though sometimes to detrimental effect. By channeling the Force into withering blasts of light-side energy, the darkness can then be diminished or destroyed permanently. Force light can also be used to sever the bond between a Sith battlelord and his or her followers.

Wall of Light: A wall of light is an immense manifestation of potentially destructive light side Force energy created by the focused power of a united Jedi front. When performed successfully, a wall of light allows participants to effectively contain or purge the power of the dark side from a specific location, or sever an especially dangerous darksider from their Force connection.

Force Orb: Force Orb is a Force power which serves as an attack. Under normal circumstances, it only works underwater. It can also sometimes be used on land by gathering moisture in the area. Kit Fisto utilized it during the Battle of Mon Calamari, creating a ball of air underwater and directing it at an opponent.

Force Projection: Force projection is a mysterious Jedi ability, and is possibly a variation of Force illusion. It is a technique with which a Force user can create an inanimate apparition similar to themselves to distract, confuse or lure enemies. Perhaps not strictly a mind-trick, the projected image is fully capable of intercepting incoming fire, and is visible to all around it, not just a selected target.

Force Protection: A power only achieved by high-rank Jedi Masters, Force protection makes the bearer invulnerable to a wide range of attacks; the ultimate power in terms of defense.

Force Defend: Reduces damage taken by Force powers.

Force Absorb: A trained Jedi may have converted all kinds of Force attacks used against them to additional Force charge. As the energy used to perform Force-related powers was limited, a Jedi can use the enemy's attacks to their own benefit, instead of receiving damage from them.

Protection Bubble: A Protection Bubble, bubble of safety, is a Force power, probably related to Force Protection. With this ability, the user can create a defensive sphere around their body. It is described as a shimmering blue globe of energy. It can protect the user from a wide range of attacks, deflect laser blasts, defend against lightsabers, vacuums and even inflict certain amounts of damage upon contact with the enemy. Protection bubbles can also be used offensively. Should the user surround the attacker in a Protection bubble, it is possible the attacker will become a victim of their own attack, having been trapped within its destructive radius. Due to the extreme concentration needed to sustain the bubble however, the user will have to be momentarily immobile in order to enact the bubble, and sometimes, completely stationary in order to sustain it.

Force Stun: Force Stun is a Force power that can temporarily deaden the senses and perceptions of a targeted enemy. It is often used when a Jedi faces a large number of opponents or if they wish to disable an enemy long enough to flee from or apprehend them. To use the power, the Jedi will use the Force to induce them into a catatonic state. Beings or creatures with a high degree of willpower can resist the effects of this power. In addition, it is ineffective against droids and other inorganic beings.

Force Stasis: Force Stasis is a more potent version of Force Stun. The Jedi will use the Force to deaden the senses of an enemy, inducing a near-catatonic state and in effect freezing that person or being in place. This power is very useful when the Force-user is stuck in tight spots against a superior number of foes.

Stasis Field: Stasis Field is the highest level of Force Stun. Often learned and practiced by higher-level Jedi Knights and Masters, this power allows the Force-user to put multiple enemies into brief, non-harmful catatonic states at one time, allowing for quick escapes or to avoid protracted confrontations against seemingly overwhelming numbers. This power can also be used to avoid combat entirely, if the wielder wished to apprehend or sneak by opponents put into stasis.

Force Valor: Force Valor is a light side Force power that increases the resolve, accuracy, and speed of one's self and one's allies. Tapping into the Force, a Jedi can increase the rate at which one's capacity is functioning, allowing the body to move more quickly, strike more powerfully, and fight with improved accuracy. The more wise, charismatic, and skilled the caster is, the more profound the effects of Force Valor are.

Hibernation Trance: Hibernation trance, healing trance, Jedi hibernation, Force trance, or recovery trance is a control-based ability that allows a Force-user to go into a very deep hibernation state. This slows the user's metabolism and breathing to a standstill, causing the individual to only use one tenth of the air of a normal individual. A fully trained Force-user can stay in this state for up to one week in a dry climate or one month in a wet climate before dying from lack of water. A hibernating Force-user will appear dead to all but another Force-user. This can lead to potentially dangerous results for the hibernating individual if nobody is aware of the truth. To avoid such situations, the person in a hibernation trance can provide a trigger phrase that, if recited by another person, will bring the Force-user out of the trance.

Levitation: Levitation is a Force power that allows Jedi to suspend themselves against the force of gravity. Levitation requires no direct physical contact. Using the Force, an individual can then hover in place or move about wherever they desired.

Revan also briefly used levitation to attune his connection to the force during his 're-training' at the Jedi Academy on Dantooine.

Mind Trick: Though serving the same purpose, Mind Trick is more effective then Force Persuasion, and is used commonly by Jedi to sway a target to do as desired while avoiding a conflict altogether.

Malacia: Malacia is a Force technique that is used to induce a powerful dizziness and nausea in enemies by turning their equilibrium against them. It is completely incapacitating, but causes no damage to the body, and so was not considered a dark side power. Even so, the effects of the power are sometimes so severe that it can cause a target to vomit. The principal quality of the technique is that a Force-user utilizes it by transforming a target's energy rather than using their own.

Morichro: Similar to a Force trance, morichro suspends biological functions, including breathing and heart rate. A trained morichro user can turn the technique upon himself, surviving without food, water, or even air for periods of over a year at a time, though it will not protect against vacuum. But unlike a Force trance, it can also be turned on others, making it an effective way of subduing enemies. However, failure to monitor a targeted opponent can render them permanently unconscious or cause them to die of dehydration or starvation. Despite its deadly potential, morichro is not practiced by those who use the dark side, as it requires a mastery of a less malicious use of the Force than most darksiders traditionally employ.

Plant Surge: Plant Surge, also known as Consitor Sato, is a light side Force power that is based around the channeling of life energy into plants, allowing the user to improve the plant's rate of growth and even affect the manner in which it grows. In battle, the ability to control a plant's growth can be used to cause plants to grow with incredible speed directly under the user's control, causing plant life to grow and twist around opponents, ensnaring anyone who isn't quick enough to avoid it. Once ensnared, the victim will find it difficult to dodge and fight, and nearly impossible to move unless they escape through force or finesse.

Ray: Ray is a Force technique used by Jedi skilled in energy manipulation. Employing this power, a Jedi can convert small amounts of nearby matter into controllable focused energy. With this energy, a Jedi can block attacks from blaster bolts. Ray can also be employed to stop lightsaber attacks, although only experienced Jedi can use the ray effectively in combat. Energy collected from this ability will become unstable and harder to control if used to absorbe excessively, dissipating in the form of a flash of heat if the user fails to maintain proper control.

Revitalize: Revitalize is a light side Force technique that revitalizes an exhausted, wounded or, unconscious user, or whoever the user directed it at. Being a Force-based power, it does not work on non-organics such as droids.

Cure Disease: This Force power is a variant of Force Healing that can cure diseases afflicting living things. The power typically requires extended concentration by the user, normally lasting an hour or more. It is not completely unheard of for a user to spend as many as 20 hours focusing with this ability to remove the most persistent of diseases. The power is limited to only removing the present and future effects of the diseases in one's system; past effects are not healed.

Cure Poison: Cure Poison is a variant of force healing that can remove or detoxify poisons afflicting living things. The power typically requires extensive concentration by the user, normally lasting an hour or more. It is not completely unheard of for a user to spend as many as 20 hours focusing with this power to remove the most potent of poisons. The power is limited to only removing the present and future effects of the poisons in one's system; past damage is not healed.

Dark

"A Sith knows when to unleash the fury of the dark side, and when to hold back. Patience can be a weapon if you know how to use it, and your anger can fuel the dark side if you learn how to control it."

- Darth Bane

Dark side powers are used to harm, debilitate, or kill. Some, like Rage and Drain, are used to benefit the user personally, akin to powers of the light side, with the difference that these were used at the expense of his or her own health or another individual's Force reserve. The dark side draws its power from emotion, and while the intent behind their use may well have been good at the time, it is most likely to lead one to further spiritual corruption from overuse, without the proper self control and mindset. Continuous use of dark powers have a physically corrupting effect on the Force-user, regardless of intent, due to the body's inability to handle such power for long periods of time.

Deadly Sight: Darksiders can inflict pain and injury upon their foes merely by looking at them, causing victim's body to burn and smoke as they died. The user of Deadly Sight can damage entire groups of foes within their field of vision. Tiring to sustain, it is inefficient in terms of the strain caused on the user's Force reserves, but was nevertheless effective in the right situation. It should be noted that Deadly Sight injures everyone that the user looks at, including allies and civilians; it is unknown whether or not it can be refined, especially because of its dark nature.

Drain Knowledge: Drain Knowledge is a dark side ability used to extract knowledge out of a sentient without his or her consent. Beyond simple reading of thoughts, the Drain Knowledge ability disrupts the Force to steal deep memories and information in a violent and merciless way. Such a process will most likely damage the subject psychologically.

Force Destruction: Force Destruction is a dark side Force power used by certain gifted Sith and Dark Jedi, allowing them to create a massive energy field and throw it in any direction. When used, a massive amount of energy is stored up within the user, drawn from the dark side of the Force, and with incredible concentration, the energy can be discharged using the user's own body as a conduit. Usually fired through the arm or hand, it can blast a large radius vaporizing anyone who gets too close to it. Even those who have escaped direct contact with the blast will be pushed asunder by the power's backlash. Using Force Destruction is a very exhausting power requiring a great deal of focus and concentration and can only be used a few times without requiring the user to rest.

Drain Force: Drain Force rekindled Force energy in the user, offensively draining the Force energy from those whom the power was turned upon, or defensively draining the force from certain Force powers.

Force Fear: The wielder will strike directly at the deepest parts of the target's mind, causing an uncontrollable shaking fear that would wreak havoc with the target's capabilities. Through pure force of will alone, a user can cause them to lose their courage completely, and if left undefended, the effects could be severe, rapidly demoralizing the enemy with a feeling of hopelessness and regret. Depending on the victim, it would caused them to either cower defenselessly or flee from their opponent outright.

Force Horror: Force horror enables the Force user to cause multiple enemies to enter into a catatonic state of panic that is more severe and more difficult to defend than the basic Force fear.

Force Insanity: Force insanity also enables the Force user to affect multiple enemies at once, although to an even greater range than its predecessor. As the most advanced form of Force fear, its effect is much more devastating, with the victims descending into an utter state of frenzied madness and deranged mania as their situation seemed to suddenly become hopeless.

Force Shock: Force Shock is a Force power that allows the user to create an energy spark that will track and damage the nearest enemy. The shock can be thrown at an opponent to stun and injure them, or can be set loose to track an opponent until it dissipates. The shock will not last more than five seconds or so before disappearing into a tiny burst of heat, but it is a useful technique for Sith apprentices.

Force Storm: Force Storm is a Force lightning variant. The user will raise his palm upward and will create, through the Force, an explosion of electrical energy directed at all foes in the vicinity. It also appears as a tornado of energy which creates a great disturbance in the Force.

Chain Lightning: Chain Lightning is a variation of Force lightning with the difference being that the lightning is able to strike one person and then move to another or several others. As it is more powerful than the standard lightning, it requires a greater amount of discipline and concentration to project and sustain the stream of lightning.

Sith Barrage: "Sith barrage" is a variant of force lightning that allows users to create a bolt of lightning up from the ground damaging anything in it's way.

Lightning Shield: Lightning Shield is another variation of Force Lightning in which a shield of lightning covers and protects the user. Its effects may extend beyond the immediate space near the user, and can shock enemies in the distance. It can lower damage taken by the user, and can enhance the saber damage the user deals out. It is not the most powerful form of Force Lightning, however, and it takes mastery in the art of Force Lightning and high concentration to use Lightning Shield. It can even redirect force lightning back at the user of the force lightning.

Force Phantom: Known to be an elaborate Sith technique, Force phantoms are lifelike apparitions that when created, can fully interact with the physical world around them in whatever manner the conjurer desired. In order to use this technique, the user must concentrate and locate the target through the force. Only then, could the user anchor their own consciousness into the target's mind, and from within, the user could create his/her lifelike apparitions.

Force Rage: Force Rage, also known as Dark Rage or Force Enrage, is a dark side alter Force ability. The Force user will tap into his or her innermost fears, pain and hate, and convert them into an intense rage. The user can then channel the anger to increase his or her own speed, strength, and ferocity. However, the body can not handle such rage for long periods of time, so the user becomes greatly weakened for some time after the rage subsides.

Force Scream: If a Dark Jedi is being beaten and frustrated by his foe, he might let out an enraged scream (amplified through the Force) that triggers shock waves that ripple through the Force. This causes devastation to any that are unfortunate enough to be in close proximity. Like many dark side force powers, it allows the user to use powerful negative emotions as a weapon, albeit involuntarily in this case. The Force scream has been called “a wave of hatred, amplified and fueled by the dark side, that is capable of smashing through mental and physical defenses with ease.”

Force Slow: This power clouds the target's mind, causing them to slow down both mentally and physically. It is the milder version of three poison-inspiring Force powers, the other ones being Force Affliction and Force Plague.

Force Affliction: Force Affliction is a variant of Force Slow. Affliction works much like a fast-acting poison, quickly debilitating the target. The effects of affliction worsen over time and may cause death if the user is strong enough in the Force.

Force Plague: Force Plague is a more powerful version of Force Affliction. Plague works like a fast-acting toxin, horribly debilitating its victims. The effects of Plague continue to worsen over time.

Force Storm (Wormhole): One of the most powerful known Force abilities in existence, Force storm is capable of tearing the fabric of the space-time continuum by opening dimension-altering rifts in the universe. The power allows a Force-user to generate unique hyperspace wormholes, violent blue vortices of Force energy known as Force storms, anywhere from less than one hundred meters to over one kilometer in diameter. Force storms can devastate the surfaces of entire planets and consume whole fleets of starships. Storms can also safely transport living beings across the galaxy in a short span of time and, if used in conjunction with certain Sith artifacts, can send a being forward in time.

Midi-chlorian Manipulation: This force power requires immense knowledge of the dark side of the Force, it is the ability to create, maintain, or save life through the influencing of midi-chlorians to a certain degree.

Transfer Essence: Transfer essence, also known as essence transfer or transfer life, is a radical dark side Force power used to transfer a person's consciousness into another body, or in some cases an inanimate object.

Force Wound: This power allows the Force user to telekinetically attack their opponent's organs or body. If not resisted, it can crush the victim's heart or spasm their lungs, thus stunning them and inflicting considerable damage to the organ, and incredible pain and suffering. On Korriban, Granta Omega used Force Wound on the black-market dealer Auben's heart, killing her instantly.

Force Kill: The Force user will cause damage to an opponent simply by thinking it, resulting in the victim being choked to death or suffering immense pain if not resisted. Darth Bane killed his father merely by projecting his hatred of him, giving his father a heart attack in his sleep.

Force Choke: Once focused on the user it causes immobilization and choking, which with prolonged focus, can lead to death. The area affected is typically the target's neck. The target is not lifted or moved about. The reason why Sith masters usually used it instead of Grip, is when they need to just punish, threaten, or scare their target, without wanting to cause death.

Force Grip: A crushing application of the Force, Force Grip is an advanced level of Force Choke and can be used to levitate and strangle a target's internal organs. However, the primary purpose is to immobilize or control a target's movement and choking the target to death can be secondary. The target can be seized with great strength and subsequently lifted off their feet and suspended in the air by a powerful user. Very similar to Force Choke, the main difference between the two is that choke is used to strangle its victim, as it seems the usual method is to use the Force to crush the throat or windpipe of its victim, whereas Grip is used to literally grab someone with the Force. More powerful users are quite capable of lifting the intended target off the ground and moving them through the air. Also, the user is not limited to merely strangling their prey, but can crush organs or bones, or even the entire body, (although this is commonly called Force Crush). Those most experienced with Force Grip need only a live visual of their victim in order to perform the technique. Some use this provision as an advantage to escape the Grip's clutches: Jedi can implement Force Persuasion or Force blinding to obscure a Grip-user's vision, or some can immediately leap to escape it (with mixed results in either case, depending on the user's knowledge of the Force). Boba Fett was known to have been able to escape a Force Grip by firing his jetpack, utilizing the external propulsion to fly safely out of the Grip-user's line of sight.

Force Crush: Possibly the most violent Force ability known to the Sith and the Jedi, this deadly technique lifts the opponent into the air and, as they are floating, their body will implode as it is crushed by the Force.

Force Flight: Force Flight is a Force power that enables the user to telekinectically move themselves toward a specific destination, taking levitation to an extreme degree. To use this Force power took a great deal of concentration.

Force Wind: An ancient Sith technique. This power allows the Force user to manipulate and channel air currents to form a powerful and destructive tornado that can lift up targets and fling them about.

Thought Bomb: The thought bomb is one of the most powerful and destructive applications of the dark side of the Force which targets all Force-sensitive individuals and vaporizes clothing, flesh, bone, and even stone within the radius of the weapon's blast. The thought bomb sucks the souls of its victims into a sphere of dark side energy where they are trapped in an orb of dark torment until the end of time. Unfortunately for the user(s) the thought bomb is a suicide weapon.

Memory Walk: Memory Walk, also known as Torture by chagrin, is a dark side Force ability developed by Rokur Gepta. It consists of mentally reaching into the victim's mind, forcing them to relive all the worst memories of their life, both painful ones and ones that are merely embarrassing, over and over and over again to the point where it almost seems to cause physical pain.

Drain Energy: Drain Energy is a Force skill that can be used to deplete power packs, energy cells, and similar sources of energy, rendering electronic devices and powered weaponry useless until the power source is replaced or recharged. Depending on the amount of Force power put in, the time it takes to deplete an object of battery power varies. But generally it takes mere moments.

Kinetite: Kinetite is a sphere of restrained kinetic energy which can be thrown at an enemy. The ball is fist-sized and can batter down most obstacles in its path. Some Sith Masters have been known to flatten ferrocrete bunkers with kinetite. Nevertheless, if the target of the kinetite employs the Force defensively, the kinetite can be easily deflected back to its owner.

Spear of Midnight Black: The spear of midnight black is a dark side Force power. It enables the Force-user to summon the Force and forge with it an invisible spear from dark side energies which can be hurled at opponents, killing or injuring them as if it were a real, physical spear.

Lightsaber Combat

Saber Barrier: A defensive technique, the saber barrier is a telekinetic lightsaber combat technique. It consists of having the lightsabers whirl hovering in a horizontal circle around the saber-wielding Jedi, thus creating a defensive yet deadly wall of lightsaber blades, defending the Jedi primarily against melee attacks.

Saber Throw: It is an offensive use of the lightsaber. The Force user, whether by manually locking the blade in the 'on' position or holding in the activation button using the Force, can throw the lightsaber in a boomerang fashion, with it cutting its way through obstacles and (usually after deactivation) returning to the hand of the caster. Variations in the skill of the user meant that some can hurl their lightsabers great distances, make mid-air course corrections, or keep them hovering in place. These techniques, finely honed, can be combined to make telekinetic lightsaber combat possible. Also, there is a destructive variation of the technique where the saber can be thrown straight towards the target. It is extremely damaging to anything alive, if it hits vital parts of the body, such as heart or head.
